Remembrance 2024
We had a good turnout for our Remembrance Parade this year, with some of our new Squirrels and Beavers taking part too. The weather was kind, mild and dry.

We took the opportunity to get a last Survival Friday in for 2024 on the last Friday in August. It was a pleasant evening of stories and brews. Most of the scouts stayed up all night, some tried tea for the first time. Some spotted a Starlink satellite train.
A great weekend for Strategy for our scouts. They returned tired, but happy after a weekend of incident hike around Cirencester Park on Saturday and adventure activities on Sunday.
Scouts had a delightful evening on the Wye up from the Symonds Yat rapids on Monday, developing their skills in preparation for a day paddle in September.
Scouts took part in the first “Survival Friday” since 2018 on Friday night. They have to build a tarp shelter, sleep in it, light a wood fire, and cook breakfast. We took a group of Scouts and Explorers to the Haarlem Jamborette in The Netherlands. It is the most amazing ten days that you can imagine on scouting. We took Scouts and Explorers from across the Forest of Dean to Belgium for a week. We stayed at the De Kluis camp site near St Joris Weert. We cycled, canoed, hiked, swam, saw battlefields, visited the scout museum, and Brussels. It was brilliant.
