Survival Friday

First Survival Friday for 4 years. Chilly overnight, so people were up at 0450 😮

May cub camp was the first opportunity to pitch the new marquees. The other Gala tents had done great service but we bought them in 2007 and they were showing their age.

Haarlem 2019

Every 4 years the Forest of Dean Scout District takes a contingent of Scouts, Explorers and Adults to the Haarlem Jamborette in the Netherlands. Cub Camp May 2019

The Cub Leaders planned an excellent Harry Potter themed Cub camp in the Deerpark. The activities included: wand making, spells, potions, and a real-life Quidditch match. We had a fantastic time.

Beaver Camp

The Beavers held an overnight camp on 23 November at Beaver Lodge, Parkend. Just one night, but it was enough. Climbing indoors was fun.

Backwoods Challenge 2018

We entered a team of scouts into the Annual Backwoods Challenge. The aim is to spend 24 hours in a shelter made from scavenged materials (we supply a tarp and cord), cooking meals on a wood fire, then clearing up and leaving no trace. Our team were all novices and came first in the challenge.…

Wye Canoe Exped 2018

We completed a canoe expedition down the Wye in July 2018. We started at Luckshall campsite and paddled to Hoarwithy on the Saturday. Scouts cooked the evening meal then had a relaxing evening around the campfire. We struck camp and continued the paddle to Ross on the Sunday.

Strategy 2018

Our scouts entered 4 teams into the County Scouts challenge, Strategy, held at Cirencester Park. We had a brilliant time completing a wide variety of tasks and activities with some navigation and map reading thrown in.
